Randy Gragg, Board President and I sat down and recorded a thirty minute, 7 track album on the history, design, and inspiration behind the Halprin Sequence. It was created as an educational piece for the community, park and fountain goers, and lovers of Lawerence Halprin and landscape architecture.

About the Conservancy

The Halprin Landscape Conservancy is a non-profit organization devoted to the restoration and stewardship of the Portland Sequence: the Source Fountain, Lovejoy Fountain, Pettygrove Park and Forecourt Fountain. 

Formed in 2001, the conservancy has worked with the Russell Development Company to develop the first tree-trimming program for Forecourt Fountain and Pettygrove Plaza. The conservancy also worked with the Portland Bureau of Transportation and surrounding property owners to develop new lighting that not only will improve the illumination of the plazas and surrounding paths but also better respects Halprin’s original design. Most recently, the conservancy is working in tandem with the Portland Parks Foundation to develop a restoration plan for Pettygrove Park. The Conservancy published a monograph in 2009, titled Where the Revolution Began.

Responsibilities: 
- Plan, organize, coordinate, promote and facilitate programs, events, and other activities.
- Schedule + maintain communication with vendors, speakers, participants + coordinate  timelines. - Assist in preparing a variety of publications, materials, and programs for events.
- Adhere to prepared budgets and provide periodic progress reports for each project.
- Keep track of event finances including requisitions, invoicing and reporting; coordinate appointments and meetings on behalf of executive director and board members as needed.
- Assist in coordinating publications, contribute to HLC website and social media networks
- Update the HLC events calendar; and ensure consistent use of the Portland Open Space Sequence in all anniversary event communications. 
- Support for organization and Executive Director as assigned.
